This is a recipe redo I did awhile back because I loved the idea of the original but didn't want to consume a lot of calories, fat, and carbohydrates just to enjoy some cheesy bread. The original recipe is Cheddar and Scallion Bread from Giada DeLaurentis. I like to serve this bread along with my Minestrone Soup.
3/4 pound (12 ounce) loaf ciabatta bread (I used LaBrea Bakery)
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/4 cup chopped green onions (white part only)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Yield: 12 slices
Serving Size: 1 slice
